Pueblo, Colorado – Thunderstorms are expected to roll into southern and eastern Colorado this weekend, bringing a sharp drop in temperatures and the potential for severe weather through Monday.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, widespread showers and thunderstorms will begin Saturday and continue through Memorial Day. Some storms may become strong to severe, especially in areas like Lamar, La Junta, and Trinidad, with the highest chances for thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon and evening.
High temperatures, which soared into the 90s across cities like Pueblo and Springfield on Friday, will tumble into the 60s and low 70s by Sunday and Monday. Colorado Springs, Leadville, and Woodland Park will see cooler highs in the 50s to 60s with overnight lows dropping into the 40s.
Residents are advised to secure outdoor items, charge electronic devices, and stay weather-aware, particularly during afternoon and evening hours when storm activity is most likely. Rain and hail could impact driving conditions, especially along I-25 and US-50 corridors.
