Colorado Springs, CO – Thunderstorms will likely roll into Colorado Springs by early Friday afternoon, bringing rain, lightning, and a potential travel headache along I-25 and Highway 24. The National Weather Service is warning residents to brace for active skies and brief downpours, especially between 2 and 3 p.m. on Friday, July 18.

According to the NWS office in Pueblo, there’s a 40% chance of storms after noon Friday, with temps climbing near 88°F. Winds may shift northwest as storms pass, and though rainfall is expected to stay light, it could still reduce visibility and slick roadways during afternoon commutes.

By Friday night, skies turn mostly cloudy with a slight chance of lingering storms. Temperatures will dip to the mid-60s. On Saturday, July 19, stronger thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon, especially after 3 p.m., bringing renewed concerns for lightning, gusty winds, and isolated flooding. Highs will reach near 86°F.
