Denver, CO – A storm system moving through Colorado on Tuesday will bring snow, gusty winds, and changing conditions throughout the state. Snow will first develop in the mountains in the morning, with rain showers spreading onto the plains by the afternoon before transitioning to snow as temperatures drop.

According to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder, snowfall will remain light from Denver to Fort Collins, but the eastern plains and Palmer Divide could see one to two inches of accumulation. Winds gusting over 50 mph may lead to areas of blowing snow, making travel hazardous.

Farther east, heavier snowfall amounts are expected in parts of Kansas and Nebraska, where road conditions could deteriorate further. Mountain areas will experience the most significant accumulations, with slick and slow travel conditions expected into Tuesday night.

Residents are advised to prepare for difficult travel conditions, especially in higher elevations and open plains. Those commuting through affected areas should be prepared for sudden visibility reductions due to blowing snow. The system is expected to clear by early Wednesday.
