Pueblo, CO – Heavy rain and thunderstorms are set to return to Pueblo and surrounding areas this weekend, with storm activity expected to intensify Friday night and continue through Sunday. The National Weather Service warns that the storm track remains uncertain, but residents should prepare for significant precipitation and possibly below-seasonal temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service, the storm system is projected to enter Pueblo on Friday night, bringing a high chance of rain and thunderstorms. By Saturday, residents along I-25 and the southern Colorado region could see widespread rain, with precipitation chances reaching up to 80%. Thunderstorms may accompany the rain, particularly in the afternoon and evening.
The storm system will push across the area from Friday through the weekend, exiting by Monday. There’s an elevated risk of flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Motorists on I-25 and other major roads should remain cautious, as visibility and road conditions may deteriorate due to heavy rain and storm activity.
With snowfall likely in the mountains, travelers should be prepared for hazardous driving conditions on high-altitude routes. Lower elevations, including Pueblo, are expected to see rain showers, with temperatures dropping into the upper 30s on Saturday night, significantly cooler than average.
