Colorado Springs, Colo. – Southern Colorado heads into the weekend with warm and mostly dry conditions before storms develop by Sunday afternoon. Sunshine will dominate Friday and Saturday, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s, creating ideal outdoor conditions across Colorado Springs and nearby communities.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, Friday will bring highs near 81 degrees with light north winds shifting east by the afternoon. Saturday remains clear and sunny with a high around 76 before a slight chance of thunderstorms enters the forecast late Sunday. The agency notes storm chances rise to 20 percent Sunday afternoon and evening, especially along the I-25 corridor and higher terrain west of the city.

Travelers and residents should watch for brief heavy rain, gusty winds, and lightning during any passing storms. Outdoor plans late Sunday may need adjustments, particularly in El Paso and Teller Counties where storm development is most likely.

The start of next week trends warm again, with highs in the upper 70s and only isolated storm chances through Monday night.
