Colorado Springs, CO – Strong winds and dry conditions are creating hazardous weather across Colorado, with a High Wind Warning and Red Flag Warning in effect through Wednesday. Gusts up to 65 mph could cause power outages, difficult travel, and an increased fire risk.

According to the National Weather Service, the High Wind Warning is in effect from 7 p.m. Tuesday until noon Wednesday for El Paso County, including Colorado Springs and Black Forest. Winds of 30 to 40 mph, with gusts reaching 65 mph, will make travel hazardous, especially on east-west highways like I-25. Residents are advised to secure loose objects, avoid unnecessary travel, and prepare for possible power outages.

A Red Flag Warning is also in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, affecting multiple counties, including Pueblo, Crowley, and Las Animas. Low humidity and gusty winds could cause wildfires to spread rapidly. Officials urge residents to avoid outdoor burning and follow local fire restrictions.
