Colorado Springs, Colorado – Snow tapers off by midday Saturday, but drivers and gardeners should brace for sharp temperature swings, frost, and midweek storms.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for Colorado Springs until noon Saturday, with 1 to 2 inches of snow possible and slippery road conditions—especially near Peterson Space Force Base and along the I-25 corridor. But the bigger story starts Sunday.
Easter Sunday brings sunshine and a springlike high of 57°F—ideal for outdoor gatherings. But that warmth won’t last. By Monday night, lows will plummet to 38°F with strong southwest winds. Tuesday night dips even colder to 39°F, with frost and freeze risks for gardens and exposed pipes.
By midweek, the Plains and Front Range could see rounds of showers and thunderstorms, especially Wednesday and Thursday, according to the NWS outlook. These storms may bring gusty winds and brief downpours, especially across southeastern El Paso County.
The San Luis Valley and northern Fremont County could see light snow Tuesday night as another cold front sweeps in. Roads near higher elevations—especially U.S. 50 and the Wet Mountains—may become slick during the overnight hours.
