Colorado Springs, Colorado – Drivers across Colorado could face wet, slick roads along I-25 starting Tuesday afternoon as spring thunderstorms roll into the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms will develop after 3 p.m. Tuesday. Areas south of Colorado Springs may see heavier downpours and isolated thunderstorms through the evening. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds and allow extra travel time, especially near Monument Hill and along key interchanges on I-25.

Wednesday brings a 40% chance of additional thunderstorms after 1 p.m., with temperatures reaching a mild 68°F. Winds will pick up slightly from the north at 5 to 10 mph, making outdoor activities riskier during the afternoon hours. By Thursday, rain chances rise sharply to 80% with steady showers expected after noon, creating possible minor flooding in low-lying areas.

The pattern of unsettled spring weather continues Friday, with a 30% chance of showers before noon. Skies will clear somewhat by the afternoon, offering a temporary break in the rain. Highs will hover near 68°F both Thursday and Friday, with light and variable winds helping to dry roadways during dry periods.

Saturday sees a return of sunshine with a high near 74°F, but breezy conditions will follow as south winds increase to 15-20 mph.
