COLORADO — A gray chill settles over the Front Range this morning as clouds thicken and temperatures linger in the low 20s. It’s the calm before the snow. A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday, covering Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Canon City, and Fremont County, where 2 to 5 inches of snow could fall by late evening.

The National Weather Service in Pueblo warns that snow will begin early Wednesday, intensifying through the day. North winds between 10 and 15 mph could create patchy blowing snow and reduced visibility, especially across the I-25 corridor from Pueblo to Colorado Springs. Bridges, overpasses, and untreated roads may quickly become slick as temperatures drop below freezing by midmorning.

Forecasters note that travel conditions will deteriorate fastest during the Wednesday morning commute, particularly for those driving south from Monument Hill into El Paso County. While totals may stay moderate, locally higher amounts are possible near foothill areas and Palmer Divide communities, where colder air will help snow accumulate more efficiently.

By Wednesday night, the storm clears out, leaving bitter cold lows near 12°F. Skies will brighten Thursday with highs around 39°F and calmer winds. The region rebounds slightly by the weekend with sunny skies and temperatures climbing back into the 40s.

Five-Day Colorado Springs Outlook:

  • Tuesday: Clouds increasing, high 50°F, low 29°F.
  • Wednesday: Snow, 2–5”, high 29°F, low 12°F.
  • Thursday: Sunny, high 39°F, low 18°F.
  • Friday: Mostly sunny, high 44°F, low 21°F.
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny, high 47°F.
