Colorado Springs, CO – Strong winds and fire risks are set to impact Colorado Springs and surrounding areas starting Tuesday, with gusts reaching 50 mph. Residents should prepare for hazardous conditions, particularly near the Air Force Academy and along the I-25 corridor.

According to the National Weather Service, wind speeds will increase overnight, peaking Tuesday afternoon. The strongest gusts are expected in the mountains and lower eastern slopes. Additionally, dry conditions will create an elevated fire danger through midweek, particularly in the San Luis Valley and southern Colorado.
