Denver, CO – Spring weather across Colorado will bring a messy mix of rain, snow, and wind beginning Friday, posing travel concerns along I-25 and higher terrain into the weekend.

A strong Pacific system will move into northeast and north-central Colorado late Thursday night, with widespread impacts through Saturday. According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, light snow will begin in the mountains early Friday before expanding across the plains and foothills—including Denver, Boulder, and Castle Rock—by midday. Gusts could reach up to 45 mph, reducing visibility on roadways like I-25 and US-36.

Snow accumulation is expected mainly above 6,000 feet, but metro areas may also see a dusting or light slush during commutes. Friday night into Saturday morning brings the highest chance for accumulating snow, especially near the Palmer Divide. Those traveling Friday evening should plan extra time and remain alert for icy spots and reduced visibility.

The weather eases Saturday with a 30% chance of lingering snow showers. Temperatures rise through the weekend, bringing drier and sunnier spring conditions starting Sunday. Highs will climb into the mid-40s Saturday and reach near 60°F by Sunday. By Monday and Tuesday, dry air dominates with sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 60s.
