Pueblo, CO – Snow is expected to blanket the Continental Divide in Colorado tonight, with 3 to 8 inches possible above 11,000 feet by Tuesday morning. Higher snow totals are possible in some areas as the storm moves eastward, bringing significant impacts to the high-altitude regions.

According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest snow will accumulate along the Continental Divide through Tuesday morning, with additional snow expected to shift to the Eastern Mountains by Tuesday and Wednesday. Areas above 11,000 feet in these mountains could see 1 to 2 feet of snow.

The storm will primarily impact areas like Buena Vista, Monarch Pass, and the higher mountain passes in central and southern Colorado. Travelers planning to head into these areas should prepare for hazardous road conditions, particularly in the high-altitude passes, where snow and ice could make travel dangerous.

Snowfall totals are expected to vary, with locally higher amounts possible. As the storm moves eastward on Tuesday, conditions will worsen in the Eastern Mountains, including areas such as Walsenburg and La Veta.

Winter weather advisories remain in effect through Wednesday, and further warnings or updates could follow as the storm progresses.
