Grand Junction, CO – Snow and rain will bring hazardous travel conditions to Grand Junction and western Colorado starting Tuesday night, with accumulating snowfall in the mountains through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, snow showers will develop Tuesday evening, with a 60% chance of accumulation, mainly before 11 p.m. Overnight temperatures will drop to 19°F, increasing the risk of icy roads.

By Wednesday, a slight chance of lingering snow showers remains, followed by a temporary clearing before another system moves in Thursday night. This second round of precipitation could bring significant snowfall to higher elevations, with up to three feet possible in the mountains by Saturday. Lower elevations, including Grand Junction, will see a mix of rain and snow.

Motorists should prepare for slick conditions, particularly on I-70 and mountain passes. Drivers are urged to check road conditions before traveling.

Rain and snow showers will continue into Friday before tapering off Saturday. Expect highs near 48°F on Thursday, cooling into the 30s by the weekend. Travelers and residents should stay updated on weather alerts and road conditions.
