Above-normal temperatures, strong winds, and dry conditions are raising fire concerns across much of Colorado. Officials warn that the southern plains face critical fire weather risks on Friday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pueblo, southwest winds could reach 50 mph, while humidity levels drop to 10%. A Red Flag Warning is in effect, signaling increased wildfire danger. Residents should avoid outdoor activities that could start fires.
While most of the state will stay dry, light snow is possible in the central mountains. However, fire conditions remain a concern in lower elevations. Warm temperatures and strong gusts will create hazardous conditions for much of the region.
Officials urge caution and advise against open flames, outdoor burning, or any activity that could spark a fire.
