Pueblo, CO – The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued multiple Winter Weather Advisories for Colorado’s southern mountain ranges, warning of 4 to 10 inches of snow and gusty winds through Sunday evening.
According to the National Weather Service, the advisories remain in effect until 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. MST Sunday, affecting high-elevation areas above 10,000 to 11,000 feet. The impacted zones include Pikes Peak, the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the La Garita Mountains, and the Eastern San Juan Mountains, including Wolf Creek Pass and Cumbres Pass.
Forecasters say snow-packed and slushy roadways are likely across the mountain passes, creating difficult travel conditions throughout the day. Winds may gust up to 35 mph, further reducing visibility.
Motorists are urged to slow down and use caution, especially along high-elevation routes and passes. Travelers can check updated road conditions statewide by calling 511.
Weather impacts are expected to ease later tonight as snowfall tapers off. However, slick and icy conditions could persist into Monday morning.
