Goodland, KS – Snowfall across eastern Colorado, northwest Kansas, and southwest Nebraska is expected to create hazardous travel conditions through midnight CST Tuesday, with additional snow accumulations likely.

According to the National Weather Service in Goodland, up to two inches of snow is expected, with the heaviest accumulations north of a line from Yuma, CO, to Goodland, KS, and Gove, KS. Affected cities include Burlington, Colby, McCook, and Norton.

Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will become slick, impacting both morning and evening commutes. Motorists on Interstate 70 should expect delays and dangerous conditions. Officials urge drivers to slow down, use caution, and avoid using GPS for alternate routes.

Residents are advised to stay indoors if possible, dress in layers when outside, and cover exposed skin to prevent frostbite or hypothermia. For updated road conditions, call 511 in Kansas, Nebraska, or Colorado.

The advisory remains in effect until 11 p.m. MST (midnight CST). Additional snow is expected tonight, worsening road conditions across the region.
