Denver, CO – Warm, windy weather will persist across Colorado on Wednesday, elevating the risk of wildfires before a shift to cooler, wetter conditions later in the week.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a Red Flag Warning is in effect for northern Colorado, where gusts up to 35 mph and humidity levels below 10% will create critical fire weather conditions. Residents in areas along the I-25 corridor and eastern plains should avoid any outdoor burning and stay alert for fire warnings.
By Thursday night, a slight chance of rain will develop, leading into a cooling trend. Friday brings the possibility of rain and snow for Denver and surrounding areas, with daytime highs dropping to the low 50s. Blustery conditions will continue into Friday night, with overnight lows falling into the mid-20s.
Looking ahead, the weekend forecast includes a chance of snow showers on Saturday, with highs in the upper 40s. Sunday and Monday will bring a return to sunny skies and spring-like temperatures in the upper 50s to near 70 degrees.
Residents should prepare for rapidly changing weather conditions this week—stay updated with local forecasts and be cautious of fire hazards through midweek before the return of winter-like conditions by Friday.
