Denver, Colorado – Drivers across Colorado’s Front Range should brace for near-zero visibility early Sunday as dense fog blankets the region, creating dangerous travel conditions from Fort Collins to Fort Morgan.

According to the National Weather Service in Denver, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect through noon MDT Sunday for a wide swath of the state, including metro Denver, Boulder, Castle Rock, Greeley, Sterling, and parts of the Eastern Plains. Visibility in affected areas could drop below one-quarter mile in places.

Roadways such as I-25, I-70, and U.S. 34 may become especially hazardous, particularly in low-lying areas, valleys, and open farmland where fog tends to thicken. Cities like Aurora, Highlands Ranch, and Akron are also under advisory. Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and increase following distance.

This marks one of the season’s most widespread fog events, reaching elevations between 6,000 to 9,000 feet across foothill communities like Evergreen and Estes Park, and impacting both morning commutes and early holiday weekend plans.

Advisories remain active until midday Sunday, with updates available at weather.gov/bou. Additional alerts may follow if fog persists or visibility worsens.
