Pueblo, CO – A widespread fire weather alert remains active across Colorado this weekend, with Red Flag Warnings issued for multiple regions through Saturday evening and into Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, Red Flag Warnings are in effect until 9 p.m. MDT Saturday, with an additional warning active from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. MDT Sunday. The alerts cover a broad area, including Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Canon City, Trinidad, Walsenburg, and the San Luis Valley, among others.

Winds are expected to gust up to 45 mph, with sustained speeds between 15 and 25 mph. Combined with humidity levels as low as 4 percent, conditions are primed for rapid fire ignition and spread. In areas like Denver, Grand Junction, and Park County, warnings continue through 8 p.m. Saturday, with similar wind and dryness contributing to fire risk.

Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning, secure loose materials, and remain alert to emergency notifications. Fire officials emphasize caution with anything that may create sparks, including vehicles and machinery.

This extended period of fire danger aligns with historical springtime wildfire patterns in Colorado, where windy and dry post-snowmelt conditions create volatile environments statewide.
