Pueblo, CO – Friday will be the last warm day before a surge of arctic air moves into southern Colorado this weekend, bringing the coldest temperatures so far this season along with a few rounds of light snow, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.
Highs Friday will climb into the 50s and 60s across the plains, while the mountains remain cooler in the 40s. The first round of snow is expected to arrive Friday evening into Saturday morning, mainly affecting the central mountains, where 1–2 inches of accumulation are possible. A dusting could also occur on the Palmer Divide, including areas near Colorado Springs.
Temperatures will plummet behind the front, with Saturday highs struggling to reach the 30s in Colorado Springs and upper 30s to low 40s across southern areas like Pueblo and Trinidad. Overnight lows will dip into the teens and 20s through the weekend, with additional snow chances Sunday into Monday as another disturbance approaches.
Travelers heading into mountain passes should use caution as slick spots and low visibility are possible. Conditions are expected to gradually improve by midweek as southerly winds return and temperatures rebound into the 40s and 50s.
