Denver, CO – Colorado faces increased wildfire risk Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. due to strong winds and dry air. Forecasters warn that gusts between 25-35 mph and low humidity will create dangerous fire conditions.
According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, the highest risk areas include northeastern Colorado, near the Wyoming and Nebraska borders. A Red Flag Warning is in effect, and officials urge residents to avoid activities that may create sparks.
The fire danger will be highest during peak wind gusts Sunday afternoon. Dry air, warm temperatures, and strong winds will increase the risk of rapid fire spread. Authorities recommend postponing outdoor burning, welding, or using equipment that may ignite fires.
Firefighters remain on high alert as conditions worsen. Residents should monitor local updates and prepare for potential fire evacuations.
