Thornton, CO – Authorities have issued a statewide Amber Alert after a 16-year-old girl was reportedly abducted Tuesday night in Thornton.

According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Jasmin Zapata was last seen around 8:00 p.m. on September 22, 2025, being forced into a grey two-door Chevrolet Silverado near Thornton Parkway and Gale Boulevard. Officials say the suspect has been identified as 19-year-old Juan Bretado.

The Silverado bears Colorado license plate AXW-L52 and has a lime green “Timpano” sticker on the bottom left rear windshield. Police warn that the vehicle was last spotted traveling in the Boulder area shortly before 9:00 p.m.

Zapata is described as a Hispanic female, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 110 pounds, with brown and black hair. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants. Bretado is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with brown and black hair.

Authorities are asking anyone who spots the vehicle or has information on the pair’s whereabouts to immediately call 911 or contact the Boulder Police Department at 303-441-3333.
