KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Cold conditions will persist across the Kansas City region through Monday morning, with wind chill values dropping into the single digits above zero to as low as 5 degrees below zero, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters said the coldest conditions are expected overnight into early Monday, especially during the morning commute. Residents are urged to dress in layers and limit prolonged outdoor exposure.

Temperatures are expected to begin a warming trend Monday afternoon, with highs reaching the lower to mid-40s. Above-normal temperatures are forecast to arrive Tuesday and continue through the remainder of the week.

Highs are expected to climb into the 40s and 50s from Tuesday through Saturday, marking a significant shift from the recent cold snap.

Rain chances remain low, with the weather service calling for only a 15% to 25% chance of rain Thursday morning, mainly east of U.S. Highway 65.

Despite the warmer trend later in the week, forecasters caution that cold mornings will continue through Monday, and residents should remain prepared for winter conditions.
