Spokane, WA – As the workweek ends, the Inland Northwest is gearing up for a series of rainy and breezy days beginning Friday afternoon. Forecasters are urging residents to be prepared for slippery roads, particularly along I-90 and other major routes, as rain and cooler temperatures are expected to worsen travel conditions.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Spokane, patchy fog will give way to mostly sunny skies on Friday with highs reaching the upper 50s. However, a shift in weather is predicted late Friday night, with rain beginning by early Saturday. Expect a 30% chance of rain on Saturday, with temperatures between 57°F and 65°F. Conditions will turn more severe on Sunday, bringing an 80% chance of widespread rain and breezy winds. Highs will dip to the 50s, and winds could make travel difficult, especially in exposed areas near rivers and foothills.

Monday’s forecast shows the possibility of mountain snow with snow levels dropping to 4,300 feet, affecting local areas such as Mount Spokane. Drivers are encouraged to prepare for slick conditions as lowland rain will persist through the start of next week. If you’re planning a trip into higher elevations, make sure to check for weather advisories before heading out.
