Little Rock, AR – A storm system bringing heavy rain and possible flooding is set to impact Arkansas throughout the week. Residents should prepare for wet conditions, with showers persisting through Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will continue overnight into Wednesday, with a chance of thunderstorms before 10 a.m. Wednesday’s high will reach 50°F, with northeast winds at 5 mph shifting northwest in the afternoon. Rain totals could lead to localized flooding, particularly in low-lying areas.

Thursday brings a break with partly sunny skies and a high of 42°F, followed by another dry day Friday with highs reaching 51°F. However, rain chances return Friday night, continuing into Saturday with a high of 62°F.

Northwest Arkansas and higher elevations could see freezing rain or wintry precipitation overnight, increasing travel hazards. Drivers should monitor road conditions, especially on major routes like I-30 and I-40.

With flood risks rising, officials advise securing loose outdoor items, avoiding low-water crossings, and staying informed through weather updates.
