St. Louis, MO – A cold front will bring rain and snow chances back to the region late Saturday night into early Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service in St. Louis.

Forecasters say the highest snowfall potential (up to 1–3 inches) will occur across northeast Missouri and west-central Illinois, where snow is likely north of Interstate 70. The St. Louis metro area is expected to see a mix of rain and snow, while areas farther south—including Jefferson City and Farmington—will primarily see rain.

Most of the precipitation will fall between midnight Saturday and sunrise Sunday, before tapering off by midday. Behind the system, temperatures will plummet Sunday night, with lows near 0–18°F possible across parts of the state, and some locations approaching record cold for early December.

Drivers should prepare for slippery conditions early Sunday, especially north of the I-70 corridor where light snow accumulations are most likely.
