Wilmington, N.C. – The National Weather Service in Wilmington reports that a cold front passing through the region this morning will usher in colder, drier air across southeast North Carolina and northeast South Carolina through Monday.

Highs today will reach near 50°F inland and the mid-50s along the coast, with north-northeast winds gusting around 20 mph. Skies will remain mostly cloudy, but conditions stay dry for most of the day.

By late tonight, an approaching area of low pressure will bring increasing rain chances after midnight, with a few thunderstorms possible near the coast. Lows tonight will fall to around 40°F inland and the mid-to-upper 40s along coastal areas.

Forecasters advise residents to enjoy the dry weather today before wet conditions return overnight into Tuesday morning.
