Boston, MA – The National Weather Service in Boston reports that after a mild, damp Wednesday, a strong cold front will sweep across southern New England, ushering in a colder, breezier stretch just in time for Thanksgiving.
Today’s highs will reach 56–62°F with scattered showers and light winds. However, much colder air will arrive overnight as the front moves offshore, dropping temperatures quickly into the 30s and 40s by morning.
Thanksgiving Day will feature mostly sunny skies but blustery northwest winds, making it feel much colder. Highs will stay in the low to mid-40s, with wind chills in the 30s.
Friday looks even colder, with highs only in the mid-30s to low 40s and gusty winds continuing along the coast. Despite the chill, skies will remain mostly clear — a bright but brisk end to the holiday week.
Forecast Highlights:
- 🌦️ Wednesday: Scattered showers, highs 56–62°F.
- 🌬️ Thanksgiving: Sunny, blustery winds, highs 43–47°F.
- ❄️ Friday: Mostly sunny, gusty winds, highs 34–43°F.
Residents are advised to bundle up if heading out for Thanksgiving morning events or coastal activities, as wind chills will feel near freezing in many spots.
