Binghamton, NY – Strong northwest winds and colder temperatures are sweeping through Northeast Pennsylvania and parts of Central New York today, prompting a Wind Advisory for Lackawanna, Pike, Luzerne, and southern Wayne counties until 3 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service Binghamton, wind gusts will be strongest in Northeast Pennsylvania, particularly in the Poconos and higher elevations around the Wyoming Valley, where speeds could reach 40-45 mph. Breezy conditions and Finger Lake Effect flurries/light snow showers are also expected this morning across portions of Central New York.

High temperatures will remain in the 30s and 40s, but wind chills will make it feel even colder throughout the day. Residents are urged to secure loose outdoor objects and drive with caution, especially on elevated roads and bridges where gusts may be stronger.
