St. Louis, MO – Bitterly cold conditions will grip Missouri today, with gusty northwest winds and frigid wind chills making travel uncomfortable. Morning flurries are expected, especially in west-central and southwest Illinois, with temperatures hovering in the low to mid-30s but feeling much colder.

According to the National Weather Service, wind gusts of 35-40 mph will create wind chills between 10 and 20 degrees this morning. These conditions pose risks for motorists along key roadways such as I-70 and I-64, where visibility may briefly drop during morning flurries. Drivers are urged to dress in layers and carry emergency supplies in case of delays.

Skies will clear by afternoon, offering some reprieve, but the chill will linger as temperatures struggle to climb. Friday night will see lows near 25 degrees, with lighter winds easing outdoor conditions slightly.

Looking ahead, Saturday brings sunny skies and calmer winds, with highs near 37 degrees. Sunday’s forecast predicts similar conditions before a warming trend begins Monday, pushing temperatures toward the upper 40s. However, rain chances increase early next week, with a 50% chance of precipitation by Monday night.

Residents are reminded to secure outdoor decorations and avoid prolonged exposure to the cold today. Stay updated on weather changes through local forecasts to plan activities safely.
