San Diego, CA – Thick coastal fog is expected to blanket parts of Southern California overnight, prompting the National Weather Service in San Diego to issue a Dense Fog Advisory for San Diego County and Orange County coastal areas through 6 a.m. PDT Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Forecasters warn that visibility could drop to one-quarter mile or less, affecting drivers along Interstate 5, Highway 1 (Pacific Coast Highway), and nearby surface routes through Oceanside, Huntington Beach, San Diego, Chula Vista, and Costa Mesa.
The NWS cautions that low visibility may make travel hazardous, especially during the early morning commute. Motorists are urged to reduce speed, use low-beam headlights, and leave extra following distance between vehicles.
Conditions are expected to improve gradually after sunrise as the fog lifts and visibility returns to normal.
