Wilmington, North Carolina – Temperatures are climbing fast this morning, with inland communities pushing toward the low 80s by early afternoon, creating unseasonably warm conditions across southeastern North Carolina.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, highs will reach between 77 and 82 degrees inland, while coastal areas including Wilmington and Myrtle Beach remain slightly cooler in the 70 to 75 degree range due to onshore influence. These readings sit roughly 10 degrees above typical late-March levels.

Cities including Florence, Lumberton, and Jacksonville will see the warmest conditions, with sunshine dominating and little cloud cover expected through the day. The dry pattern will support ideal travel conditions along major routes like U.S. 17 and I-40, though the warmth may catch some residents off guard after a cooler start to the week.

By tonight, skies remain mostly clear with lows settling between 57 and 60 degrees across both inland and coastal areas. Light winds and stable conditions will continue overnight.

Residents should stay hydrated and take advantage of the calm weather, as changes could develop later this week. More updates are expected as the next system approaches.
