Chicago, IL — Chicago begins the week under a blanket of clouds, with the National Weather Service calling for a few light showers or spots of drizzle on Tuesday. While precipitation will be minimal and intermittent, skies will stay mostly cloudy with highs ranging from the low 40s to upper 40s.

The cloudy pattern continues into Wednesday, keeping temperatures seasonably cool for mid-November. Highs will hover in the 42–47°F range, with nighttime lows dipping to the upper 30s and low 40s.

Thursday brings the most interesting weather twist of the week: if clouds manage to break up, temperatures could jump into the low to mid-50s, offering a brief warmup. However, forecasters caution that if clouds linger — which models suggest is quite possible — highs may remain stuck in the 40s.

Light rain returns for parts of the region on Friday, mainly south of I-80, where a slight chance of showers is expected. Otherwise, the city and surrounding suburbs will again see mostly cloudy, cool conditions.

The upcoming weekend looks calm and seasonable. Saturday should be partly to mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s, along with dry weather returning.

While the forecast lacks major storm activity, the persistent cloud cover will keep the week feeling gray, damp, and cool. Sunshine-starved Chicagoans may want to root for Thursday’s clouds to break — the only real chance at milder temperatures this week.
