Toledo, OH – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. today for Lucas and Wood counties, as snow and gusty winds continue to affect early travel across northwest Ohio.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, up to one additional inch of snow is expected before a gradual transition to a rain-snow mix later this morning. Winds could gust up to 40 mph, creating patchy blowing snow and slick road conditions, particularly on I-75, U.S. 20, and the Ohio Turnpike.
Drivers are urged to slow down, allow extra travel time, and use caution on bridges and ramps that may remain icy. The Ohio Department of Transportation reminds motorists to check ohgo.com for real-time travel and road updates.
Farther east, a Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect for southern Erie County, Pennsylvania, beginning 6 p.m. this evening through 7 a.m. Monday. Forecasters expect 3 to 5 inches of snow there, with the heaviest rates—up to 1 inch per hour—late tonight. Winds near 35 mph will cause drifting snow and reduced visibility overnight.
Snow across northwest Ohio is expected to diminish later this morning, while Erie County will see continued accumulation into Monday’s early commute.
