Cleveland, OH – The National Weather Service (NWS) Cleveland is forecasting an unsettled stretch of weather for northern Ohio this week as a low-pressure system lingers over the Great Lakes region, bringing periods of lake effect rain, gusty winds, and cooler air through Thursday.
Forecasters said showers and isolated thunderstorms today will transition to lake effect rain tonight, continuing into late Thursday. The heaviest rainfall—between 2 and 4 inches—is expected near Lake Erie, mainly across Lake, Ashtabula, and Erie (PA) Counties.
Temperatures will drop from the low 60s Tuesday into the 50s midweek, with breezy southwest to west winds gusting up to 25 mph. Residents are encouraged to clear leaves and debris from gutters and storm drains to reduce flooding risk.
While the steady rain is expected to ease by late Thursday, cooler fall temperatures and scattered showers could linger into Friday.
