Cleveland, OH – The National Weather Service in Cleveland released its Meteorological Fall 2025 Weather Roundup, showing that most of northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania experienced cooler and drier conditions than usual this season.
Average fall temperatures across the region ran about 1°F below normal, with November marking the coldest stretch. Akron-Canton, Cleveland, and Youngstown all recorded average highs near 48°F for the month — roughly 2 to 3 degrees below normal. Mansfield was the only site slightly above average for the season, running about half a degree warmer than usual.
Precipitation totals were also down across much of the region, with Cleveland seeing just 6.72 inches of rainfall, about 4.18 inches below normal, and Toledo logging one of its driest falls on record with only 4.12 inches. Erie, PA, stood out as the wet spot, finishing nearly 2 inches above normal with over 14 inches of precipitation.
Snowfall varied widely. Toledo and Youngstown both logged well above normal totals — 5.5 and 6.4 inches, respectively — while Akron-Canton, Mansfield, and Erie saw below-normal snowfall.
Overall, the fall season wrapped up with below-average temperatures and rainfall, setting the stage for a colder-than-usual start to winter across the region.
