Cleveland, Ohio – Commuters across Northeast Ohio may start the day dodging lingering showers, but conditions are expected to steadily improve as rain tapers off and skies slowly dry out by this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, scattered showers will persist through the morning hours, mainly across the snowbelt and lakeshore counties from Cleveland to Ashtabula and Erie. Precipitation coverage will diminish from west to east by midday, with much of the region turning dry later in the afternoon.

High temperatures today are expected to reach the upper 30s to low 40s, including around 42 degrees in Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown. Areas farther south and west, such as Mansfield, Marion, and Findlay, may climb into the mid 40s. Any brief snowflakes near the lakeshore early this morning should mix with or change to rain before ending.

Road conditions may remain damp during the morning commute, especially along Interstate 90, Interstate 77, and Route 11, but widespread travel issues are not expected once showers exit.

Forecasters say this drying trend marks the start of a noticeable warmup heading into the end of the week, with milder temperatures continuing to build. No weather alerts are currently in effect, but updates will follow as the warmer pattern settles in.
