Cleveland, Ohio – Lake-effect clouds and lingering sprinkles will taper off tonight, giving way to partly cloudy skies across northern Ohio by early Friday. Temperatures are expected to dip into the upper 50s and lower 60s, offering one of the coolest nights of late summer.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, the lakefront will hold slightly milder conditions, with Sandusky and Cleveland near 63 to 67 degrees, while inland areas such as Mansfield, Marion, and Findlay are expected to bottom out closer to 60. Erie, Pennsylvania, could see readings near 60, while Meadville may fall to a cooler 58.
Drivers should prepare for patchy fog developing overnight in valleys and rural stretches, especially in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Light winds off Lake Erie may also create cooler pockets near the shoreline by dawn.
Residents are advised to keep windows cracked for natural cooling, as the region settles into a stretch of mild late-August nights.
Conditions will gradually warm heading into the weekend, but tonight marks one of the more comfortable evenings for outdoor activities or open-air sleeping.
