Cleveland, OH – Sunshine breaks through early Monday across northern Ohio, but it won’t last long. A fast-moving system is already on approach, promising a wintry shake-up by Tuesday night with rain, snow, and strong winds returning to the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, clouds will increase through tonight as southerly winds shift in ahead of the next low-pressure system. Rain and snow will develop Tuesday afternoon, mixing at times before turning to all snow Tuesday night. Gusty winds up to 30 mph could create periods of reduced visibility, particularly along I-90 and near Lake Erie.
Snow accumulations should remain light overall — generally less than 2 inches — but the combination of wet flakes, falling temperatures, and strong winds could create slick evening travel. By Wednesday morning, the system pushes east, leaving blustery northwest winds and highs around 41°F.
The back half of the week turns sharply colder, with highs only in the low 30s Thursday and additional snow chances each day through Saturday. Forecasters are already tracking another wave of lake-effect snow potential into the weekend, part of a broader December cold pattern expected to grip the Great Lakes through Dec. 17.
