CLEVELAND, Ohio – A weak low-pressure system will linger across Lake Erie this weekend, bringing scattered rain showers to parts of Northeast Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania. After a bright and mild Friday, clouds increase by nightfall, with patchy rain developing late Saturday and continuing at times through Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service Cleveland, the system’s slow eastward movement will keep skies mostly cloudy for much of the weekend, especially near the lakeshore and across counties including Cuyahoga, Lake, Ashtabula, and Erie (PA). Rain showers may be spotty but could briefly dampen outdoor events or slow travel along I-90 and I-480. Sunshine should gradually return to western Ohio by Sunday afternoon.

Highs will hover in the mid-60s to lower 70s through Sunday, with overnight lows in the 40s to lower 50s—typical for mid-October. Winds from the southwest will stay light, limiting any lake enhancement, though brief drizzle could persist near the shoreline.

Drivers are urged to keep headlights on during passing showers and allow extra braking distance on wet roads. Outdoor planners should have rain gear ready, especially east of Cleveland. By late Sunday, drier air moves in from the west, setting up a clearer, seasonable start to next week.
