CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cooler, near-normal temperatures will settle across northern Ohio tonight, but drivers north of Route 30 may need to watch for passing showers and an isolated thunderstorm east of Cleveland.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, lows will dip into the upper 50s to mid-60s overnight, with scattered showers possible from Sandusky to Ashtabula. The best chance of thunderstorm activity will remain north and east of Cleveland, mainly near the Lake Erie shoreline.
In Cleveland, lows will hover near 62 degrees with about a 15% chance of rain overnight. Erie and Ashtabula may see slightly higher rain chances of up to 20%, while areas farther south like Mansfield, Wooster, and Marion are expected to remain dry.
The weather service advises residents to keep outdoor items secured in case of a brief storm and to be prepared for wet pavement on Monday’s early commute, especially along I-90 and other roads near the lake.
Showers should taper off by early Monday morning, with seasonable temperatures expected through the workweek. Additional updates may follow if storms develop overnight.
