Cleveland, OH – The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a Wind Advisory in effect until noon Sunday, October 19, for much of northwest and north-central Ohio as strong southerly winds sweep across the region.

According to the National Weather Service, sustained winds up to 25 mph with gusts reaching 40 to 50 mph are possible this morning, especially as bands of rain move through. The strongest gusts are expected near Toledo, Sandusky, and Mansfield.

Forecasters warn that loose outdoor items and fall decorations may be blown around, and tree limbs could be downed, leading to a few isolated power outages. Drivers, particularly those operating high-profile vehicles, should use extra caution on north-south oriented roads.

Winds will gradually diminish by early afternoon as the front passes through, giving way to cooler and calmer conditions for the remainder of the day.
