Cleveland, OH – Lake effect snow showers are continuing this morning across northern Ohio’s snowbelt region, producing light to moderate accumulations and slick travel conditions, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.

Additional snow totals of 1 to 4 inches are expected, mainly in inland areas stretching from Cleveland to Ashtabula and Meadville, with the heaviest amounts (3–4 inches) likely in the higher terrain near Geauga and Erie Counties.

Snowfall will persist through late morning, gradually decreasing in intensity and coverage this afternoon and evening. Snowfall rates may briefly reach up to 1 inch per hour in localized heavier bands before tapering off.

Forecasters warn that some roads may be snow-covered and slippery, especially during the morning commute. Motorists are urged to slow down and allow extra time to reach destinations.

Conditions will improve later in the day as snow showers diminish and winds ease.
