Cleveland, OH – Residents across Cleveland and northeast Ohio can expect a damp and occasionally slippery start to Tuesday as a mix of rain, snow, and sleet lifts into the region early in the morning. The National Weather Service (NWS) Cleveland reports that temperatures will rise toward midday, changing all precipitation to rain as a warm front moves through.

According to NWS Cleveland, the highest chances for morning precipitation are expected west of Cleveland, where some areas may see a light wintry mix around 7 a.m. Forecast maps show early snow and sleet probabilities ranging from about 15% to 56% across northern Ohio, with slightly higher chances in the Mansfield and Marion areas. Commuters should be prepared for possible slick spots, especially before temperatures climb.

By early afternoon, precipitation chances increase significantly across the region. NWS data indicates widespread 70–88% probabilities of rain by 1 p.m. in cities such as Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Toledo, and Sandusky. As temperatures rise toward 40 degrees, any lingering snow or sleet is expected to shift to all rain, reducing the risk of icy travel but keeping roads wet for the remainder of the day.

Travelers throughout Cuyahoga County, Summit County, Lorain County, and the surrounding metro areas may experience slower drive times during the morning hours. The warmup later in the day should help improve conditions, though rain showers could persist into the afternoon.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updates from NWS Cleveland as forecast details may shift with the approaching warm front.
