Cleveland, Ohio – A cold front exiting Ohio tonight may leave behind scattered showers and lake effect rain across parts of the state into Saturday, with temperatures dipping into the low-to-mid 50s across much of northern Ohio.
According to the National Weather Service Cleveland, rain chances are most likely along and east of I-71, especially in areas like Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown. As the front moves out, lake effect showers could persist into Saturday in Northeast Ohio and parts of Northwest Pennsylvania, including Erie and Meadville.
Drivers should be alert for wet roads overnight, particularly east of the I-71 corridor. Temperatures will fall to 51°F in Toledo, 54°F in Mansfield and Marion, and 56°F in Erie. Winds are expected to stay light, but damp conditions could affect early Saturday plans.
Residents in counties such as Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, and Trumbull may see light rainfall into the morning hours. While flooding is not expected, outdoor activities could be briefly disrupted.
Showers are forecast to taper off by midday Saturday. Cooler, dry weather is expected to follow for the rest of the weekend. Updates will be issued if lake effect rain persists longer than expected.
