Cleveland, OH – A cold front is sliding across northern Ohio this morning, bringing a mix of light snow and spotty freezing drizzle across the Lake Erie corridor and into northwest Pennsylvania. While totals remain light, even a brief glaze of ice could cause slick travel this afternoon, especially on bridges and untreated back roads.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, temperatures will hover in the low to mid-30s through midday before falling sharply into the 20s tonight as cold air sweeps in behind the front. Flurries are most likely near Ashtabula, Erie, and Chardon, with a chance for light snow showers as lake-effect bands briefly form along the shoreline.

Farther inland — from Akron to Mansfield and Sandusky — expect low clouds and intermittent drizzle, possibly freezing at times where surface temps dip near 32°F. Motorists should exercise caution through early evening, as even minimal icing could create patchy slick spots during the transition period.

By late tonight, skies will clear and winds will shift northwest, ushering in a cold, dry night with lows in the mid-20s across most of northern Ohio.
