Cleveland, Ohio – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect beginning 7 p.m. Tuesday as light snow spreads across Northeast Ohio and heavier bands target interior Northwest Pennsylvania.

According to the National Weather Service Cleveland office, a fast-moving clipper system will bring widespread light snowfall to much of the region tonight. Snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are likely across portions of Northeast Ohio, including Cleveland, Akron, Elyria and Youngstown.

Heavier snowfall rates are expected east of I-90 and along the I-79 corridor in Pennsylvania. Interior Northwest Pennsylvania, including Erie, Meadville and Edinboro, could see 3 to 5 inches of snow in a short period, with most accumulation occurring within a six-hour window overnight.

The advisory remains in effect from 7 p.m. Tuesday until 1 p.m. Wednesday for affected Pennsylvania counties.

Drivers along I-90, I-71, I-76 and I-79 should prepare for snow-covered roads and reduced visibility, especially during the late evening and early overnight hours. Slower travel speeds and slick conditions are likely during peak snowfall.

The system is expected to taper by early Wednesday afternoon, but untreated roads may remain slippery into the morning commute. Students and early-shift workers traveling along major Northeast Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania highways could encounter reduced traction and slower travel times.

Residents are encouraged to monitor weather.gov/cle for updates and check local road conditions before traveling.
