Cleveland, Ohio – Slippery roads will develop quickly along I-90 and I-77 by 7 p.m. Tuesday as a fast-moving clipper spreads snow across northern Ohio, with heavier bursts targeting the evening drive.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, snow will expand across the region this evening and continue into early Wednesday, with most of the accumulation falling in a six-hour window. Northeast Ohio can expect 1 to 3 inches, while interior northwest Pennsylvania is forecast to receive 2 to 5 inches under a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 7 p.m. Tuesday until 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Across Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties, snowfall rates may briefly intensify, reducing visibility and coating highways including I-271, I-480 and Route 2. Akron and Medina could see around an inch, but even lighter totals may create slick conditions as pavement temperatures drop.

The greatest impact will focus east of Cleveland toward Ashtabula County and across the state line into Erie and Crawford counties in Pennsylvania. Communities near I-90, I-79 and Route 6 could see several inches of accumulation before snow tapers late Wednesday morning.

Drivers should reduce speed, increase following distance and plan extra commute time. ODOT and PennDOT crews will treat primary routes, but heavier bursts may quickly cover treated pavement. Keep headlights on during snowfall and monitor OHGO traffic updates before heading out.

Snow will gradually diminish from west to east late Wednesday morning, though patchy slick spots may linger into early afternoon. Additional advisories could be issued if snowfall rates exceed projections overnight.
