Cleveland, Ohio – A midweek warm surge will push temperatures near 62 degrees by Wednesday afternoon, bringing steady rain and wet pavement along I-90 and I-71 just in time for the evening commute.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, above-normal temperatures will continue through Thursday, with Wednesday shaping up as the warmest day of the week. Highs are expected to climb into the upper 50s to low 60s across northern Ohio, including Cleveland, Toledo and Sandusky. Rain becomes likely Wednesday, accompanied by breezy conditions that could reduce visibility during heavier showers.
Drivers along I-77, I-480 and I-271 should prepare for slick roads and pooling water, especially during peak travel hours Wednesday afternoon and evening. While rainfall totals are not expected to be excessive, steady showers may create minor slowdowns on ramps and bridges.
Earlier in the week, temperatures steadily rise from the upper 40s Sunday to the mid-50s Tuesday. Morning lows dip into the upper 20s and 30s, meaning some neighborhoods could see patchy frost before the warmer air settles in.
By Thursday, highs remain mild in the upper 50s with only a slight 20 percent chance of lingering showers. No widespread hazardous weather is expected, but changing temperatures and wet conditions may impact travel midweek.
Forecasters will continue monitoring rain coverage and wind speeds ahead of Wednesday’s system, with updates possible if rainfall becomes steadier or heavier across Northeast Ohio.
