Cleveland, Ohio – Minor lake-enhanced snow will impact Northeast Ohio through tonight, with up to 2 inches possible along the I-90 corridor.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, colder temperatures are returning for the second half of the week following a mild Tuesday. Occasional lake-enhanced snow showers are expected this afternoon through Thursday across Northeast Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania.
Parts of the primary snowbelt could see a couple of inches of accumulation through Thursday, especially east of Cleveland into Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula counties, as well as Erie County in Pennsylvania.
Drivers along Interstate 90 from Cleveland to Ashtabula and Erie, Interstate 76 near Akron, and U.S. Route 20 across the lakeshore should prepare for intermittent snow showers, slick pavement, and brief reductions in visibility during heavier bursts.
Temperatures will return to near or slightly below seasonal averages, with highs generally in the upper 20s to low 30s. The colder air will support accumulation on untreated roadways, particularly during overnight hours.
While snowfall amounts are expected to remain relatively light overall, localized heavier bands may develop depending on wind direction and lake influence.
Commuters traveling through the snowbelt, including students and delivery drivers, should allow extra time during periods of active snowfall.
Snow showers are forecast to gradually diminish Thursday.
